Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CozyCasting Discord bot (the "Bot") and this documentation site (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Cozy Casting ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Bot, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Bot, as required by Discord's Terms of Service. By using the Bot, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service at all times.

2. Description of the Service

CozyCasting is a Discord bot that provides a virtual fishing game experience, including fishing, progression, trading, guilds, and related features. The Service is provided for entertainment purposes only.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Bot in a way that violates Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior to gain an unfair advantage
  • Use automation, scripts, macros, or any tool to interact with the Bot on your behalf
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Bot or its infrastructure
  • Harass other users through Bot features such as trading or guild systems
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans, restrictions, or game limits

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any user who violates these rules, with or without prior notice.

4. Virtual Currency and Items

In-Game Currency

CozyCasting uses two types of in-game currency:

  • Coins — earned through gameplay only; cannot be purchased
  • Pearls — can be earned through gameplay or purchased via Discord's monetization system

All in-game currency and items (rods, bait, fish, titles, etc.) are virtual goods with no real-world monetary value. They are licensed to you, not sold. You do not own any in-game assets.

No Real-World Value

In-game currency and items:

  • Cannot be transferred outside the Bot
  • Cannot be exchanged for real money or goods
  • Have no guaranteed monetary value of any kind
  • May be modified, rebalanced, or removed at any time as part of game updates

5. Purchases

How Purchases Work

Pearl purchases are processed through Discord's built-in monetization system. Cozy Casting does not directly handle or store payment information. All purchases are subject to Discord's Terms of Service and payment policies.

No Refunds

Because pearls are a virtual good that are consumed through gameplay, all purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Discord support directly.

Service Changes

We reserve the right to change the price, availability, or content of purchasable items at any time. We are not obligated to offer any particular item or bundle indefinitely.

6. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Bot at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination:

  • Your in-game progress, currency, and items may be forfeited
  • No refunds will be issued for purchased pearls

7. Intellectual Property

The Bot, its code, game mechanics, artwork, names, and documentation are the intellectual property of Cozy Casting. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

User-generated content (e.g., guild names you create) remains yours, but you grant us a non-exclusive license to display and store it as part of operating the Service.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The Bot will be available at all times or free from errors
  • Your game data will never be lost due to technical failures
  • Any particular feature will remain available indefinitely

CozyCasting is a hobby project and may experience downtime, data loss, or feature changes at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COZY CASTING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING LOSS OF IN-GAME CURRENCY OR ITEMS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 30 DAYS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Bot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
