Tips & Tricks

A collection of tips to help you fish smarter and progress faster.

Early Game (Levels 1–20)

  • Sell most fish early — You need coins for your first rod upgrades. Don't hoard.
  • Upgrade your rod ASAP — The Wooden Rod (500 coins, level 5) and Fiberglass Rod (2,000 coins, level 10) both meaningfully cut your cooldown.
  • Claim /daily every day — The streak bonus compounds quickly. A 30-day streak adds +450 coins per claim.
  • Don't waste expensive bait at low-level locations — Earthworms are fine at the Stream and Pond. Save Shrimp and Squid for Ocean+.
  • Keep your first Rare+ fish — You'll want them for early collection achievements.

Mid Game (Levels 20–50)

  • Unlock your camp at level 25 — 75,000 coins is a big ask, but the passive income pays off fast. Build the Bait Bin first.
  • Fish at the highest location you can access — Higher base values mean more coins per catch, even with the same rarity.
  • Use /lookup before buying — Check rod and bait stats before spending. /lookup titanium rod shows exact cooldown reduction and rarity bonus.
  • Stack bait + rod bonuses — Using Magic Bait on a Legendary Rod gives a massive combined rarity boost. Save it for your best location.
  • Check /achievements — Many achievements give coin and XP rewards. Knowing what's close to completion helps you prioritize.

Late Game (Levels 50+)

  • Get the Pearl Rod — It's the only way to catch Pearlescent fish, which generate pearls passively in your Display Tank.
  • Fill your Display Tank with Pearlescent fish — Pearls are the hardest currency to earn; this is the main way.
  • Upgrade Display Tank to level 5 — Five display slots means five passive income streams. Prioritize this once you have the Pearl Rod.
  • Use consumables strategically — Pop an XP Boost + Rarity Boost together before a long fishing session at a top-tier location.
  • Keep at least one of every species — Mythical and Unique fish are extremely rare. Don't sell them — they're worth far more as collection pieces and achievement progress.

General

  • /fishinfo <code> before selling — Double-check a fish's value before committing. Trait stacking can make a fish worth far more than it looks.
  • Vote for free cooldown skips — Vote Tickets from voting let you fish immediately. Useful when you're in a grinding session.
  • Use /effects to track buffs — Don't waste a consumable when one is already active.
  • /stats shows your catch history — Use it to see which rarities you're missing and where to focus.
  • Redeem codes — Check the official Discord for /redeem codes that give free coins, bait, or consumables.

At camp level 5, the Bait Bin produces up to 5 bait per cycle (2 hours). Collect regularly and you'll rarely need to buy Earthworms again.
